Summary
Radlett
is a lively, modern urban village and is the ninth richest place
in the UK. Origins of Radlett trace back further than the 18th
century. Like Borehamwood, Radlett is also on the Thameslink
rail line and is only 26 minutes from London's Kings Cross. The
population is approximately 7,600 and the town is in the Borough
of Hertsmere (whose offices are situated in Elstree Way, Borehamwood).
Transport
The
M1, A1 and M25 are all within easy reach, providing direct access
to London and the rest of the UK. A Thameslink
train service runs to London King's Cross, St Albans and Luton
at regular intervals. A comprehensive bus network provides links
to neighbouring areas.
Shopping
There
are a good range of shops, pubs and restaurants down the main
high street, Watling Street. The Battlers Green Farm shops offer
traditional fresh produce together with a selection of arts and
crafts.
Leisure
The
Radlett Centre is home to the Parish Council Offices,
village library and a community hall (providing theatre and concert
facilities, meeting rooms and a bar). Tennis courts can be found
along Watling Street, as well as the Radlett Golf Range in Harper
Lane and the Porters Park Golf Club on Shenley Hill.
